Your appointment

However you choose to contact us, we may offer you a consultation:

  • by phone
  • face to face at the surgery
  • by text or email

Appointments by phone, text or email can be more flexible and often means you get help sooner. These types of consultations may not be appropriate for everybody, so maybe converted to face to face.

Check‑In

Please arrive on time and check in at reception or via our electronic system.

Urine Samples (UTIs)

Suspect a urinary infection? Bring a urine sample to reception - no appointment needed (if aged 16+). If under 16, please book a nurse or GP slot.

Chaperone Service

You can request a chaperone for any appointment. One will also be offered if needed during your consultation.

Home visits

Home visits are for housebound patients or at the discretion of the doctors and are for seriously ill patients (who cannot attend surgery).  All requests should be made before 10.30 am.

Lack of transportation to the health centre is not a valid reason for a home visit.

You can be visited at home by a community nurse if you are referred by your GP. You may also be visited at home by a health visitor or midwife if you have recently had a baby or if you are newly registered with a GP and have a child under five years.

Pharmacy First

Pharmacists can give you expert advice on a range of conditions and suggest medicines that can help. They may also be able to offer treatment and prescription medication for some conditions — without the need to see a GP. This free NHS service is known as Pharmacy First.

Conditions that can be treated include:

  • Earache (aged 1 to 17 years)
  • Impetigo (skin infection) (aged 1 year and over)
  • Infected insect bites (aged 1 year and over)
  • Shingles (aged 18 years and over)
  • Sinusitis (aged 12 years and over)
  • Sore throat (aged 5 years and over)
  • Urinary tract infections (UTIs) (women aged 16 to 64 years)

If you go to a participating pharmacy with one of these conditions, the pharmacist will:

  • Offer you advice and treatment where appropriate
  • Provide prescription medication if clinically suitable
  • Refer you to a GP or another healthcare professional if necessary
  • Update your GP health record following the consultation

If you are outside of the listed age ranges, the pharmacist can still provide advice but you may need to see your GP for treatment.
